Located in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, Pyrénées 271 involves reorganising a 35 m² apartment on the 4th floor overlooking a courtyard in a post-Haussmann building. Despite its small size, the place has real potential: original parquet flooring, generous ceiling height, late-afternoon light and old-world charm worth preserving.
Designed for a young woman living alone, passionate about cooking and attached to a warm interior, the project had to make everyday life flow more easily. The kitchen, the priority space, needed more functionality, storage and worktop, while the living room had to allow for entertaining, reading and watching films and accommodate essential uses without overloading the space.
The vintage spirit of the project comes through in references to past decades — deep colours, warm wood, natural materials, retro details — reinterpreted in a contemporary apartment. The aim is not to reproduce an era, but to compose a lively, personal and functional interior, where old-world charm becomes the basis for a contemporary way of living.
