CAP DE RIVIÈRE

Cap de Rivière is a 19th-century manor house in Tarn-et-Garonne, restored over four years.

When we took it on, the house needed in-depth work to regain a level of comfort suited to today's uses. Networks, electrics, plumbing and joinery were rethought, while keeping what made the place special: its ceiling heights, its terracotta floor tiles, its light and its relationship with the garden.

Lived in today, Cap de Rivière also welcomes travellers from all over the world. The house has rediscovered a way of being fully lived in, without losing anything of what sets it apart.

THE RESTORATION

Built in 1820, Cap de Rivière combines raw earth inside with solid fired brick on its south façade.

The first step was to understand the house's construction logic, its strengths as well as its weaknesses, and determine what the building truly allowed. This reading guided the restoration: preserving what allowed the walls to breathe and the elements that gave the place its character, and changing what no longer met the needs of those who live there.

The challenge was to bring the comfort expected today without erasing what makes the house unique.

Today

Cap de Rivière now welcomes travellers from all over the world.
Rated 5/5 on Airbnb, the house is appreciated for its comfort, its light and the care given to every room and to the garden.

There are places where you spend your holidays, and houses where you immediately feel at home. Sophie's house belongs to the second, rare category. We had never before rented a house on Airbnb so well kept, so complete and furnished with so much taste.

A SETTING CHOSEN BY LE BON MARCHÉ RIVE GAUCHE

Cap de Rivière was chosen as the setting for part of the filming of the film around the show Entre Chiens et Louves, co-produced by Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche and Cirque Le Roux.

The team was looking for a place whose colours, materials and light resonated with the world of the film. For two days, the house became their set.
